
Boréas Technologies designs ultra low power integrated circuits that drive piezo actuators for haptics and active cooling, used in products from smartphone camera buttons to laptop cooling systems. Founded by CEO Simon Chaput, whose PhD research at Harvard led to the company's original IC architecture, Boréas came to Pitch Deck Studios to rebuild its investor presentation ahead of new fundraising conversations with technology investors.
By the time the project started, Boréas had grown IC shipments from about 17,000 units in 2021 to more than 1.1 million in 2024, and needed a deck that could carry that growth story to investors in the electronics and semiconductor space, an audience that expects dense technical and financial detail, not just narrative.
The material behind the deck was dense: patent counts, shipment and revenue charts, TAM/SAM/SOM sizing across five end markets, a six chip product family, and multi-year financial projections. The bigger problem was the presentation itself. Because the deck had been stitched together from different templates over time, styles, colors, and fonts shifted from section to section, and that kind of inconsistency reads as unfinished to investors who sit through dozens of pitches a week, no matter how strong the business is underneath.
Pitch Deck Studios rebuilt the deck around the blue and orange palette from Boréas's existing color logo, using only the brand mark rather than the full logo throughout, and gave every end market section the same problem, solution, progress, and market size structure so investors could scan and compare opportunities quickly. The opening page and section breaks used cool toned circuit and liquid cooling imagery to point directly at Boréas's two lead markets, mobile devices and active cooling, and that same blue, low temperature palette carried through backgrounds, icons, and dividers rather than sitting only on the cover. The intent was to let the deck read as cool and controlled as the chips it was selling, a quiet nod to the company's namesake, Boréas, the Greek god of the north wind, and to the fact that its chips help devices run cooler, without tipping into literal weather graphics or language out of place in a technical investor deck.
Boréas used the deck in its investor and funding conversations. In June 2025, the company secured a grant from FABrIC, the CMC Microsystems semiconductor funding program backed by the Government of Canada, to develop a force and location sensor with an integrated piezo haptic driver.
