Pitch Deck Studios built a fundraising pitch deck from scratch for Budget University, an early stage EdTech company, giving investors, grant committees, and accelerators a clear reason to back it. Budget University is a U.S.-based financial literacy platform built with AI, with existing partnerships including Chime, the Dallas Mavericks, the Texas Rangers, Encore Bank, and Lala Land Cafe. The company came to Pitch Deck Studios with a strong mission and real traction, but no pitch deck, structured copy, or investor narrative. Founder Shelby Patrice needed a deck that worked across three audiences at once: investors, grant reviewers, and accelerator programs.
This was a full build rather than a redesign. Strategy, copywriting, content structure, and visual design were all developed from a blank page, in close collaboration with the founder.
Budget University had a strong story and real proof points but nothing built yet. The team needed a structure that worked for investors, grant reviewers, and accelerators within a single narrative. The brand partnerships needed to read as credibility rather than a logo list, and the AI component needed to be framed as a differentiator without making the story technical. The deck also needed to lead with numbers and outcomes while keeping a founder driven story.
Pitch Deck Studios worked directly with Shelby to define the core investment thesis: an AI powered financial literacy platform solving a large, measurable problem, with proof already in the market through its partnerships and community reach. The messaging centered on the scale of the financial literacy gap, the AI driven approach framed in outcomes rather than technical detail, and existing trust built through the Chime, Dallas Mavericks, Texas Rangers, Encore Bank, and Lala Land Cafe partnerships. The deck was structured to open with clarity and impact, build through proof and traction, and close with a specific funding ask, with a full visual identity built to read as credible to institutional and accelerator audiences.
Shortly after the deck was completed, Budget University was accepted into the United Way Accelerator, securing its first $25,000 in funding, with additional funding conversations underway. The client was highly satisfied with the final result, and the finished narrative gave Budget University a foundation to carry into every subsequent investor, grant, and accelerator conversation.
