ReelReactor is a biotech startup that built the first continuous reactor engineered for biological and chemical reactions, aimed at replacing the batch reactors currently used to manufacture viral vectors and other cell and gene therapy products. Founded by Mike Gordon, a former Thermo Fisher Scientific engineer who helped develop the company's DynaCellect and Xenon platforms, ReelReactor approached Pitch Deck Studios to redesign its investor presentation ahead of a seed raise.
ReelReactor had already built a working prototype and run third party testing with Thermo Fisher Scientific on viral vector production. The company was raising a seed round to build out manufacturing lines, deliver reactors and consumables to early adopters, and complete third party testing and certification. The presentation needed to hold up in front of investors who might have no background in bioreactor technology.
The existing deck buried a strong technical story under too much detail. Three separate slides covered the same production problem, an appendix carried slides that didn't need to be there, and the financial model was presented as a raw spreadsheet rather than something an investor could read at a glance. ReelReactor also flagged a recurring issue: people who saw the deck often struggled to understand how the reactor actually worked, since a continuous, biology grade reactor didn't exist before this product.
Pitch Deck Studios condensed the three problem slides into one, cut the appendix down to the founder bio and executive summary, and removed a standalone animation slide that didn't add new information. The financial projections were rebuilt as an infographic that surfaced the numbers investors needed without the full spreadsheet behind it. The deck was built to match ReelReactor's existing brand precisely, and the team worked through the reactor's actual mechanism (formulate, mix, isolate, react, release) so the visuals explained the technology accurately rather than just illustrating it.
ReelReactor used the deck in its seed fundraising conversations and closed $600K, with BioTools Innovator and MedTech Innovator among the investors. The company had already graduated from the BioTools Innovator 2023 cohort and won its Best Pitch Award before this round closed.
